October 7th:

If you don't notice anything different, you've probably never been here before. This is the new format of the page. E-mail me to tell me what you think. Also we've got some big shows comming up in Rockford, IL and in Flint and Owosso, MI. Keep an eye out for us in your town. Also there is a chance for us to get a Boot to Head Record deal which would be awsome. Other than that we are writting again and will hopefull record an EP later this month. So have fun looking around and hope to see you at our live shows.

September 28th:

Good stuff. Definately good stuff. We just got done playing a great show with James (Jim) Stephen on Guitar. It was fun to play a show without Russell for the first time ever. It was different, but different seems to be good. We sent a CD off to "Boot-to-Head" records as well this week. The excitement seems to be building for OverRated Hoodies and other merch (coming soon). We are working on getting production funds through CD sales. That's about it for now in the life of OverRated. Cheers

September 23rd:

Wow ok here's what's up. After my long period of being lazy/busy (notice which is first) I've decided to finally tell the fan base what's up. Ok first off we now have a permanat guitar player in place for after the September 28th show (which is next friday). For that show we have a guest guitar palyer and friend of the band playing. Also OverRated is now getting the radio play that other bands deserve more than us. Our first real radio play was due to former guitarist and band founder Russell Sanborn's promotion of our CD up at Michigan Tech. A few days ago, the song know as Turnpikes was played on WMTU 91.9 FM. This was the first radio play the band has recived (not including the accidental incident where i played most of Death By Bobcat's "Christmas Give away" over WSNL 600 AM). This was just the first in the stroke of good luck the band has been having. OverRated was also invited to be on the radio show know as the soundcheck on Banana 101.5 tomorrow night at 10pm. Here they're going to play about 4 songs off of "Little Jimmy's Yellow Pants" and talk to both me and Derek. Other than radio play, the band has been writting, looking forward to making shirts and recording a new album called "Punk The Way It's Meant To Be". Watch for all those things to come. Also in site news: the page now has a changing image for the picture on the main page. There are 18 pictures in the cycle now and more to come. Also there is a merch page waiting to become opperational as soon as we get the money to make shirts, hoodies, patches, and stickers. If you have any ideas for merch you'd like email me. Also besides merch there is a link to our message board, until I figure out how to make one, this will act as our guest book. One final sadder note is that the quote of the week became trite and boring to me so it will be replaced with something else (although I'm not sure what yet).

August 22nd:

Funny how things change so fast. We are back. We have a show scheduled for the end of September. We were invited to open the 3 day festival with our set starting at 6 pm Friday the 28th. We are pretty sure we are getting a new guitarist for this show, but Russell might play also. The only thing we know for sure is that we are playing and it'll be a good time.

August 21st:

We had a great last show. For the time being the band is on hyadious because of Russell's absence. So this will be the last update for a while. Do check back every now and again to see if we have any upcoming reunion shows as well as check to see if we get a new guitarist, if it happens it will be hear. Cheers for now, -Mike (OverRated).

August 8th:

Have you ever been so bored that you didn't know what to do? Me too. So bored in fact, that I changed the front pic to the bear in my bass drum pic. Fun Fun. I have mp3's up and full mp3's on the way at mp3.com. Cheers.

August 6th:

OK, I got lazy again and didn't do anything to the site for a while, but i made up for it by putting some mp3's up on the song pages. Oh yeah and we've raised the price of the CD to $5 cause it kicks so much butt. If you can't afford this first of all blame James Stephen for inflating our egos (note: all James Stephen hate mail can be sent to james@jamesstephen.com) and then talk to one of us and we'll cut you a deal. Remember 1 last chance to see us play...August 16th...Flint Local 432...come and you won't regret it.

July 20th:

Tomorrow we record our CD. Expect it out the week after. We should be selling them for $2-$3 each. We also have only 1 scheduled show left, then we're done for a while. If you haven't seen us yet...do so. I can almost say "you won't regret it."

July 17th:

New pictures are up. Check out the quote of the week (I really like this one (it's funny if you get it)). Show tomorrow. It was tenetive but we are now playing for sure. Also make sure to come to our last show, I'm sure will find a way to make it special. Enough said? Good!

July 14th:

Wonderful show last night for all that missed it. It was lots of fun. The suprise, of course, was the addition of a new singer. He's now a valuable asset to our team. He brings a lot of energy, which, if you've seen our stage show, you know we need. Go to the members section and e-mail him to welcome him to the OverRated family. In site news, there'll be new pictures up some time next week, so check back to see them. Currently we have 2 shows left before Russell leaves, so if you haven't had the chance to see us yet, do so quickly, because your time is running out.

July 9th:

Back from Cornerstone with losts of suprises for all our fans. Band practice tomorrow for our show Friday at the local. Also we start recording for our newest CD (tenitavly titled "Sweeter Than Salt") on the 21st of this month. If all goes as planed then the album should be out by August. Oh yeah, and there is a suprise at our show for all who come see us. See you Friday

June 26th:

2 new songs, which is wonderful. We may play the impromtu stage a cornerstone, which would be cool. Derek has began to slack in showing up for practice. If you would like his job and are in the greater flint area go to this link "Help Wanted" and fill out the form. If you are Derek I would sugest showing up to practice and finish writing "Behind the Music: Part 4".

June 11th:

All I have is a quick update. Our show got cancelled (check out the review for details). Also we now have 4 possible replacement guitarists for when Russell leaves. Ok... that should be about it.

June 4th:

The only reason I updated the news section today is that i really like the quote for the week. If you haven't seen it already go look at it. If you have read it again. The story behind that quote is i was watching the public acess channel and they had that qoute in the center of their "message board." Great story..huh. Oh yeah also show Friday, Beans and Leaves 8:00...be there or you will ... not be there. oh nevermind I don't know why I even try anymore. Also I fixed a long time error in the shows page by adding the time and cost of admission to the information listed.

June 2nd:

The hunt for a replacement guitarist (for when Russell leaves for college) began the other day. We now have 2 possible people who will play for us. In other news all there members of the band get to graduate from high scool in exactly 1 week. We have two shows before then, come see us play. We now also have directions to the shows on our "Shows" page. If you don't know how to get to where we are playing check the directions.

May 19th:

Tonight we played a show. It went very well. It was probly the best we've ever played. Those who didn't go, especialy the ones who said they would, missed a great performance. We had the Local's sound guy record us. Some of the tracks recorded may be on our album we may or may not make called "Live At The Local" (This album will hopefully contian tracks recorded at our next 3 "Local" shows). In site news check out the new "Quote of the Week" by going to the home page and clicking on the picture. That's just about it, so until next time... "We're all posers until the day we die, then we're just dead." Also a special thanks to Jesse Armor of tomSwift for fixing the drum mic during a song a tonight's show.

May 17th:

Long time no see. We've really seemed to have found our magic in the last month. Even though we are playing first at the local saturday we're expecting a good turn out (It may be up to you to not disapoint us, so show up). Our new songs have a great new edge to them and we've been a lot sharper lately than we were in the past. All seems to be right with the band so yeah for that. So until Saturday, that's about it.

April 17th:

Wow alot has hppened since the last update. 2 shows got canceled and we have a few new songs for our show tomorrow night. The lyrics aren't up yet but they will be soon. In other site news, we have moved to http://overrated.fws1.com, but what makes no sence is why i put that link there because it it just take you back to the splash page. Well that's about it for now. Hope to see you tomorrow (April 18th) at Bethel Assembly of God for our show, a lock-in and just all around good times. See you there.

March 23rd:

Today's news is that the site's format has changed slightly. Some pages are now pop-up windows, which is probly bad news for those with Netscape, sorry. Our new song is up, at least the lyrics, and mp3's will be up shortly, some are from the old demo with our old bass player/singer, so beware. Finaly Derek's getting his bass fixed and Zafiroff broke his snare drum. Also don't forget that were playing on March 30th at the City of Hope afilliated culb called "The Word." City of Hope is located in the "Affairs to Remember Hall" on Richfield Rd. One more thing, if you like us, if you hate us... tell us how you feel (constructive critizism is apreciated but idiocy is looked down upon)...post your feelings at J. Edgar Grover. Thanks.

March 18th:

Well, I would like to thank everyone for showing up to the Bethel Assembly of God show....jerks. Just kidding, anyway if you don't have a copy of our demo/cd "Just Like You", drop us an email or see us and we'll hook you up. We have began working on our next, and most likely final recording venture with a hopefull late spring release. On the shows side of things, we just performed at the KHS talent show and we were very well recieved, even though we didn't win. And we will be playing at The Word with Carson So Sorry March 30th. So come check it out. And we'll be at the local April 8th, and one in May we'll tell you more about later. Until then, stay strong, stay focused, and God bless.

March 2nd:

Today we have another show. It should be fun. I cleaned my cymbals so we will probly sound better the next time you hear us. Come see us at Bethal Assembly of God if you can. If not we have multiple more shows through March and April.

February 16th:

Hey alots happened since the last update. For our long-coming visitors we now have a new name for our band: OverRated, even though we were always overrated it's now our name too. Also we played two shows on the same day and tried out for the talent show at Kearsley High School, which we made. Also the site has a completly new look, so check it out. And have fun.

January 21st:

Well we were supposed to have a show on my birthday (Jan. 19) but we got rediuliously jobbed out. Beans and Leaves Cafe said that they wouldn't make any money so we couldn't play. And we say boo. We will be playing two shows in downtown Flint on Feb. 2 so check us out.

January 12th:

Ok now it's the official Death By Bobcat Site. It's still a little not done but Derek, our new bass player wanted to read about himself, so here it is: Death By Bobcat. I'll try to tell you a little bit about us. Three guys. Me(Mike) the drummer, Russell the guitarist, and Derek the bass player. Derek is our second bass player. We also had one vocalist before Russell and thats about it for more information goto our History page.
